Our Teachers

Zane Julien

My passion for teaching breath, mindfulness and meditation grew out of my own personal experience with these practices.

A busy, stress-filled life, an anxious mind and no idea how to relax led to me experiencing chronic pain and fatigue on a daily basis. In 2012, I began practicing breathing techniques, mindfulness and meditation daily to help with my symptoms. The practices were transformational! They helped me to quiet my mind, change my relationship with my body and develop a sense of inner peace. I soon realized I could live with more ease than I ever imagined. I learned to love myself exactly as the queer person I am, and openly identify as non-binary, using the pronouns they/them/theirs.

Teachers and influences include Timothy Butler, La Sarmiento, Adyashanti, Thich Nhat Hanh, Larry Yang, Byron Katie, Ruth King. I am a Certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher, trained in the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program (MMTCP) with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach in partnership with the Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkley.

I am a licensed psychotherapist in private practice in Long Beach, CA since 2008. Lic # LMFT45035. As a mindfulness practitioner, I have been able to bring my most compassionate self to the healing work I do as a psychotherapist.

Mindfulness and meditation have had such positive impact on my life that it ignited a desire for me to share what I have learned with others who would be able to benefit from it as I have.
